Handling issues??
My wr1 is running standard everything... Just of late on "spirited" driving with diff set to AUTO it's nearly caught me out... A number of times when i least expect it!!with a very twitchy arse end..Iv heard people bring this up before and been told not to back off into corners etc etc as this normally brings it out..but this has happened with power down on straight line but bumpy roads
Does anyone else have this problem and how's it overcome.... My old ra with dccd never had this problem?? I just want to be able to have faith in the car but really is starting to push me towards the auto trader... Also must add that I never ran the old scoob on anything but auto..never needed to..Does anyone run there's manual and if so what setting seems to be best?? Thanks |
Does it not happen on other diff settings, which is leading you to think its the diff? Or is it just that you usually drive around in auto?

Sorry mate just edited post... Always been in auto as iv never has any issues with old car that had it just this one..
|
Mine with DCCD is arse happy:cool: taken some getting used to but keep your foot in and it's great fun.... Mine came to life following the setup at RCM:ok:
I'd try playing with the settings on the same stretch of road to see what suits your driving style:ok: A call to 'E' would be a good shout, his seems to handle pretty well, perhaps he could give yours a go and give you some feed back.... |
I always run mine in the auto mode never had an issue that's concerned me.
The arse end does step every now and then on hard acceleration out of a bend, (great fun) but surely you would expect that just keep your foot planted, What are the rear tyres like, do you still the standard ARB? I up rated mine to a 24mm to reduce understeer and you do definately notice a difference. Feel free to call me, or I could drive yours to see if is different to mine. |
Everything's standard mate..think I'm going to try as Ron says and play with diff
settings on same stretch of road..if no luck I'll get you yo pilot it bud see what you think.. |

What tyres do you have on at the mo? I have a spare set if needed |
first thing i would do is make sure its aligned correctly and pay particular attention to 'rear toe' as this can influence rear stability

Munk mate I recently had mine checked locally and made mine handle better than it did before. Bearing in mind I have checked each year before Germany. The garage I used is owned by a very good rally X driver and he was very though with my current set up and whats more it was very reasonably priced. |
Nice...where abouts is that mate? Iv got dunnlop sp types at the mo..
