what exact fault do you have?? could be you have an air leak or other issue??

have you actually re-set the ECU when switching??

no i have not re set ecu the problem is on idel the car dose not want to pull away it coughs and splutters unless you build up the revs after 2000rpm it clears after cleaning out the maff with eletrical contact spray its alot better but still dose it now and then yet if i unplug the maf it idels and pulls away spot on ive changed all 4 coil packs and new spark plugs ?

have you had the ECU checked for diagnostic codes?? although if you have been un-plugging the MAF it will have stored that anyhows............
has the car got a CEL??

take the battery off for min 30mins and then drive/check the car.......then check for codes

yes the car has a cel and when connecting the plugs to read for codes it comes back clear
ill give it a try disconecting the battery for half hour and also strip the maf down and give it a good careful clean cheers
