Brands Hatch Winter Stages Rally - 12th January 2013

Not sure if anyone is interested, but I know a few of us have been in the past so I thought I'd post this up here to give everyone a heads up.

The Brands Hatch Winter Stages Rally is back again, this time on the 12th January 2013. Official website for the event can be found here:

More information to be released in the coming weeks! :)

I might go mate, assuming they don't rediculously over-charge on the ticket prices this time ;)

Ha, yeah! Not sure if I'll go myself yet, but I thought it was worth chucking up early so everyone knows about it.

Excuse the double post, spectator map now up:

Glad to see they have addressed the complaints of previous years: looks like full circuit access (except for the inside of Druids?) and a stage crossing point.

Might go to this as I get in for free:razz:

Scott.T 08-12-2012 05:20 PM

Might go to this as my local mechanic, Vince, in his Mk1 Escort, has managed to get an entry.

Time for a bump now christmas is out of the way - might go to this now that Sunseeker isn't on in February anymore. Long wait for some rally action otherwise!

The entry list looks pretty interesting...

(Ferrari 308 and 6R4 should be worth watching!)

...so, if the weather isn't total turd, I might give it a look!

Bolesroor 02-01-2013 08:52 PM

Might be up for this as not working and Brands in only 10 minutes away.

Where is the best place to view :?:

Steve_PPP 02-01-2013 09:13 PM

You can view from pretty much anywhere, its all open access. The rwd cars are good drifting round Druids though :)

is this free if so could be the Jan meet at the kentagon.

Far from it mate, unfortunately. £15 on the gate per person.

Scott.T 02-01-2013 10:31 PM

Blimey count me out.
£15 to watch a bit of cone avoidance is a bit much.

Steve_PPP 02-01-2013 11:36 PM

Have to agree its a steep price for it, but if the weathers good i'll probably still go if a few folks are interested.

Just looked at the BTRDA 2013 Calendar and might go to the Wyedean (Feb 9th) as did that a couple of years ago and its a cracker, so not so long to wait for some proper rallying :drive:

Scott.T 03-01-2013 07:54 AM

I guessing wyedean is somewhere near forest of Dean and ross-on-wye

Yep, pretty much. Doesn't take as long as you'd think to get there tho, can do it in about 2.5 hrs from here on an early morning run (first stage is normally Chepstow just off M48 bridge).

tbtstt 10-01-2013 10:48 PM

I definately won't be doing this now :( I've got some tickets for the motocross at the O2 Saturday night: and I can't really fit both into one day!

Be sure to take lots of pictures if you go guys!

Looking doubtful for me too. Wyedean much more probable i think!

Did you go in the end mate?

Steve_PPP 14-01-2013 01:21 PM

No, weather was cold and wet, and don't think anyone else was going so didn't bother.

Wyedean next hopefully. Definitely going to Somerset stages in April as well as we've got a friend who's just bought a b&b in Porlock so can walk to the tarmac stage in the forest from there :)
