as above not strictly required but advisable to due the proximity of the cam cover, etc........

Yes, i would

On a related note, does anyone know if an uppipe could have the heatwrap replaced in situe from underneath if the car is in the air? The wrap on mine is pretty old and getting a little tatty so could re-do it if its accessible whilst being serviced, but don't really want the hassles of taking it off, using new gaskets etc.

Damn, will have to check when its in the air. Can go prepared to do the job i guess, just need to have enough space to feed wrap through in the right places and pull it tight each time.
