I had a PPP ecu on my 98 wagon, to be perfectly honest, I didn't really notice that much of a difference (bum in seat dyno).

I had however done a Scoobysport de-cat downpipe, centre section and back box along with green cotton filter which gave a healthy 248 BHP from memory. So by this point due to de-cats etc the boost had already risen a little, so to put an ECU on there which had perhaps 16psi(??) boost pressure, there was very little difference.

If you already have had these mods done, a PPP ECU may not benefit you much, you may find youself a little disappointed actually.

As others have suggested, the Apexi PFC would have been my next choice, but if I were to pay out £350 - £400 and run out of puff with not much more than a 30 BHP gain, Turbo upgrade could be considered to make the most out of the mapping.

I have had to think this many times, is the extra 20 or 30 BHP worth paying £300+??? To some maybe, to others - simply emptying the boot and having half a tank of fuel makes a difference.
