They say it's not worth doing just the belt as its off you may as well replace the lot. If the water pump packed up the next day, I'd have to replace the belt again so may as well do it all.

seems a lot of scare mongering going on these days about water pumps in particular caused i think by the fact that the likes of VAG group cars have had some major issues and do require a one at each belt change.......

have been dealing with Subaru's in parts supply, servicing, modding, etc. for 15yrs+ and only ever really provide water pumps on engine builds as they rarely go wrong......
