In their defence when I split my turbo up-pipe the other year they had me recovered within the hour. The girl on the phone did chuckle when I told her where I was
It's a bit of hassle but I'd recommend ADAC cover. It's the German equivilent to the The AA only much much larger. I have their European policy which covers me anywhere in Europe for €79 with better benefits that AA European cover. ADAC is also the only company that will recover you from the track if anything happens otherwise it's a €200 recovery fee even if you breakdown/run out of fuel.
As for breaking down in the UK; they speak English and ADAC sub-contract the work to The AA.
