I can understand the ban for a non-stop flowing hosepipe, but with a spray gun or pressure wash i can't understand the logic.

Exactly, the Karcher ads state that you save 80% compared to running a tap.
Washing the car really doesn't use much at all. Watering the garden (especially the grass) does use a lot, so I do understand that.
It's just crazy stuff really
