Washing the car really doesn't use much at all. Watering the garden (especially the grass) does use a lot, so I do understand that.

It's totally true with the pressure washer, when I use the pressure washer from the water butt I normally fill a bucket up from the water butt then run the pressure washer off the bucket, any way I normally use 4 buckets in total 2 bucket method for washing, 1/2 bucket to first jet wash the car and 1 1/2 to rinse.
