Default Can anyone help with my misfiring bug eye sti ?

I have already mentioned this In a previous thread I posted in the general scooby chat section thanks to everyone that replyed so far

I have a 2002 bug eye sti I have only had it a day when I test drove it prior to buying it it was fine drove spot on but the next morning before I picked it up the bloke rang me saying it had devoloped a slight misfire basicly it ticks over fine and drives fine but when u plant your foot to the floor u get more of what I would call a hesitation rather than a misfire it seems to bog down but than clears and pulls and boosts as normal I did drive through a large puddle on the test drive could this have caused it ?
Basically I took it to a garage earlier they stood there for a hour and a half looking didn't to move any parts or even plug it in to a diagnostic machine they than said it was either the coil packs the maf sensor or a O2 sensor and told me there was no way to test them and the only way to see it they were the cause was to fit new ones and see if it solves the problem they then relived me of £75 for there time which I thought was a joke considering they had done nothing !!!

Does and yow know of a honest reliable mechanic that knows there way around a scooby I just want it fixed and the fault diagnosed preferably without changing every sensor on the engine as the idiots I took it to earlier wanted to do !! Or does anyone have a spare set of coil packs maf sensor and O2 sensor I can swap over for mine to see if it cures it I'm happy to pay if anyone can helpi
