It's quite common for the pre-facelift to suffer spark issues after changing plug's because the weakened packs get damaged further when re-fitted. And many don't know that there are cracks under the rubber boots.

Coilpacks were one of the reasons I stopped doing the chips. People were quite happy to pay £150-£200 for a chip/ECU upgrade, but were not too happy when they also found they had to pay £250 for a set of coilpacks.
I only ever had 1 guy send the chip back for a refund, I reckon because he couldn't afford to sort the coilpacks.
As the cars got older this became more and more a problem.

I must have hundreds of emails trying to convince people it was their coilpacks and not the chip causing the problems. When they eventually swapped to new coilpacks they were eating humble pie.........the big problem was that before the chip they ran fine, but the extra boost provided by the chip would blow the weak spark out.
