Get breakdown cover from ADAC, its Germany's largest company (I believe the 2nd largest breakdown firm in the world), much like the RAC/AA except bigger, and better cover including repatriating your car, and able to recover the fee's from recovery on the Northloop,.. have a look online

There is some oddity about breaking down in the UK more than 50miles from your home, but most have never been billed for this.. I renew it every year
