That's the approach I was thinking, which is why i was more concerned about getting them out if they're stuck...
Maybe I'll just buy the kit and pop down to SMD at some point before Germany, just fancied getting the spanners out and having a go myself. Don't want to start working on it if i can't finish it as I won't be able to get it to a garage if i need to minus a caliper and brake fluid leaking out...
