Default Gave the Speedlines there last "service"

So car is pretty much ready for Leeds tomorrow, still needed a quick polish and wax as been sat in the garage all week, but the wheels... oh the wheels!

The Speedlines are starting to look the worse for wear and It has been a little more than a year since they had a good clean, ideally they need a refurb but I cannot spring to that at the moment!
So I thought why not see what I can do with them..

I am a little annoyed as I had ordered some Ironx from clean your car on tuesday (48hour delivery) but it hasn't arrived yet! so had to make do with what I had..

The wheels had been cleaned normally through the spokes with a long microfibre brush etc etc. I generally just use some car shampoo as its nice and gentle on everything perhaps I should use something nastier!

So the process I employed was as follows:

1.) Remove wheels and clean with some nasty wheel acid and rinse. (I used some turtle wax cheapo stuff and a detailing brush) after that this is what I was presented with... A crap load of tar spots bloody top dressing!

2.) Some serious elbow grease with some Autoglym Tar Remover/WD40 and some VPower!... I must get some Tardis? as this really took ages! First wheel... I spent longer on the rest! doing the front aswell...

3.) Next Clean again with wheel acid and rinse to remove any chemicals left on the wheels.. and then Clay!!

4.) Next step was to polish and then seal, I used some Poorboys polish with carnauba wax on the fronts, some autoglym wheel sealant sprayed on the insides of the wheels and wiped over then allowed to dry before wiping excess with a microfibre.. and finally some poorboys wheel sealant to finish off the fronts... this stuff smells good!

After that it was dress the tyre and re-fit. This hole process took nearly 2 hours per wheel!!, I still managed to get a coat of polish and wax on the car while waiting for wheels to haze/dry and so forth, so not to bad... considering I started at 12.30

Needless to say the next time this crap needs doing they are going for a refurb!
