i have had this for a while on my scoob, and that was after I had refurbed the callipers (And no, it wasnt wheel bearing)
if you have sliding callipers (i.e. 2-pot fronts or single pot rears) the metal edge of the pads sometimes need to be filed a bit as they are a tight fit in the calliper. As they get hotter with more driving, they expand and therefore squeak more. If you go on the motorway, the airflow cools it a bit more and the squeaking reduces.
At least thats what happened to me till I worked out what was going on
