After having a Subaru for so long I'm finding anything with an inline 4 quite dull in character.
the TFSi engine in the S3 and Golf R are quite tunable but the engine has no character and the TFSi is quite noisey/tappety due to its high pressure diesel like fuel delivery.
I would not buy another 2.0 TFSI engined car (although the K1 will be getting a remap and exhaust mods in an attempt to give character).
I need to increase the number of cylinders to get anywhere near an engine with character. So my next choice will be straight 6, V6 or even V8.
So I would say ditch any of the above that a in line 4's.
