Well this is my mates very special
WRX STI Type R RA, this was being cleaned for last years jap bash and even made it into a magazine. Didnt do a full paint correction on this, just masked most of the swirls and got some scratches out,
heres the products i used
Snow foam
Megs quick clay kit
Megs last touch detailer
Poorboys natural look
Billberry wheel cleaner
Megs fast glass
Chemicial guys maxi suds II
Chemicial guys polish sealent and glaze
Petes 53 wax
Megs next gen metal polish
Heres some before pics, looks pretty clean allready apart from the wheels, but white attracts brake dust like a magnet
First i cleaned the wheels with billberry wheel cleaner and a sodt wheel brush, the wheels were had allready been waxed previous so the brake dust basically just wiped off, heres a 50/50, the wheels were cleaned inside too but i just did the 50/50 on the front because of time
Then she was given a good dose of snowfoam mixed with Maxi suds II
Then once the snowfoam had done its job she was rinsed, washed with maxi suds II and rinsed again ready for claying. You can see a difference just with washing.
Then the whole car was clayed with megs quick clay kit, washed and rinsed again then dried with sonus der wonder drying towel, the paint looks slightly dull because of marring from the clay but thats all going to be sorted with the polishing.
A random pic of the wheels all nice and clean
Heres a pic of the swirls and the marrs left by the clay, its not too bad but the paint was left perfectly smooth and ready for polishing, even here it looks good
Now ready for polishing
The weapon of choice, the g220 starting off on the red sonus pad with chemicial guys polish sealent and glaze
Alot of areas were tapped off to prevent staining
Me at work
heres some of afters allready a big difference and a fantastic colour
My favourite
back under the marquee for finishing off, she was given 2 coats of petes 53 wax, the glass was cleaned with megs fast glass and the metal parts polished with megs next gen metal polish. The wheels were dressed with poorboys natural look to give it a new tyre look rather than a glossy wet look.
I think the scoob turned out really good she looks a little bit different now because it was done a long time ago, cant wait to have it back though to have a propper go next time
