Good quality car wash
Clay Bar and spray

Polish

Glass polish
Trim / tyre finish
wheel cleaner and wax

Perhaps go for a set combined with a DA Polisher?

The initial spend goes along way and a standard looking clean car can command huge respect in its own right

I was lucky and got a few bits for my birthday:
DAS-6 DA polisher complete with sonus kit, enhancer, swirl remover, final finish, pads for each, 2 detail brushes, 1 alloy wheel brush, 5 litres Glaze, 5 litres Bilberry wheel cleaner, 5 rolls blue tape, set of micro fibre towels, Gold Class shampoo and an air freshener

Spent a day on my neighbours car and the results are fantastic highly recommend the products.

Have a look at clean your car

The good thing with cleaning is its mainly your own time so not huge expense.
Did you get any pics of the detail mate?

As MrX said If you get a few decent clean products and keep it looking in show condition then itll look stunning even as standard
