I wouldn;t fit one to my lawn mower and I really don't care about my old champion mower one bit.
you are altering the maf voltage the ecu sees and therefore the load.. it will therefore run more ignition advance (be in the wrong area for ignition correction.. ie. less correction available) and run leaner.. for the price of the unit and an RR session to check (which is unlikely to involve checking for det) you could have had it mapped including dyno time and a nice print out and safe usable power.
