For the price of a Scott.t chip if if still has any or even dare I say it a dodgy ebay chip for the subaru. It might be a better bet than a dawes device. I think the cheaper chips which are a plug and play item for the early scoobs can be had for around £50-£100 these days.

I think the cheaper chips do nothing much more than a dawes and just raise the boost, but at least with a chip the boost will be consistent and the ECU will retard timing if its needs to to match. Dawes devices can spike and springs can get weak which can give inconsistent boost levels.

Don't get me wrong I'm not one of the...... 'its got to be remapped brigade, Dawes devices are dangerous and will blow ya engine ya da ya da'. But the price of chips are so cheap its got to be worth considering over a dawes.

I've used dawes devices on other cars with great success in the past but at the time it was the only cheap option available. For the early scoobs plug and play chips are cheap and even the live mappable ESL daughterboard are good value compared to Apexi and the like.

p.s loving those wheels and tyres if you ever decide to sell for a more road friendly set. Drop us a line and give us first dibs, they would make for a nice track set of tyres and wheels.
