as far as i am aware with the Simtek you usually have ALS on/off swith, and LC on/off switch. Theoretically you could have both on one switch i suppose.
You can't adjust the rev limit on the simtek, only on an ECU's like Syvecs, Motec etc. Though you might be able to use the socalled 'map switch' to have one set with a higher rev value for the LC? i know that the maps aren't independant so i don't know if you can adjust this or not?
were you 100% stationary when trying the LC? as it will have a low speed cut off value.
