Would the fact that the lambda doesnt have a heater now cause issues? only ask because, a, everything wrong with my cars seems to be the sodding lambda, that and on my old mr2 i didnt plug the sensor in properly and it stuttered at about 5.5k.
Any ideas please!??

Could be one of many things I'm affraid. But I wouldn't have thought it was the lambda as its not doing anything when on full chat. My money would be either as you say fuel cut due to over boosting on a cold day. Or possibly one of the coil packs.
Coil packs are known to go on the early scoobs.
If you don't have a receipt or proof the coil packs have been changed my money would be on coil packs. About £200 for a set
