the uk turbo 2000's have the td04 as standard. If you change the turbo you are gonna need to remap the ecu too, otherwise the fuelling will be all over the place.
the standard ecu can be remapped.
You are not gonna sacrifice reliability unless you go well over 300, and you wont do that on a td04 anyway.
If it was me, i would change the injectors, fuel pump, and get it mapped, you could see 290bhp, maybe slightly more.
You can go for the td05 turbo, fits straight on, you get more go, but you gain a bit of lag too.
Either way, if you havent already had the ecu mapped or unlocked, you have to buy an unlock code from prodrive (i think).
