Thanks all beginning to sound like I am officially F*cked - Oh well something else to worry about now and stress about. Guess I better get myself an appointment at some point.

Done some research myself and for my age my max heart rate should be 180bpm. = i.e running at 100%

When training 80% of max heart rate is classified as pretty high intensity training akin to a hard jog or run.

On the treadmill last night I was seeing 145bpm (80%) just on a 15 degree incline walk, but worse still then followed onto a 10 min jog and was sitting constantly at 185bpm. which is over maximum...

It goes along way to explain why I find indurance training tough. I've been running anorobic when I'm jogging. I hate to imagine what my heart rate has got up to when I'm been sprinting for 2 minutes.

My heartrate would appear to be running high across the range.
