Looks like yours is a glass fibre copy - You might be OK, but I've had nothing but horrid experiences with the glass fibre copy splitters on any MY.

They tend to use the originals as a mould, which then makes the ones they sell slightly too large/small. So never fit right and because they are glass fibre they have no give in them to pull and push them around. Plus the slightest knock and they crack.

That said plenty of people use and fit them, so just depends how well you one has been made/copied.

But to answer your question I would personally use nuts and bolts with nyloc nuts. Self taps can shake loose and its easy for someone to take them out and steal your spliiter.

But I would recommend you offer it up before you start drilling any holes.
