The hatch Impreza has taken the PWRC and Middle Eastern Championship titles a fair few times in the last couple of years.
I agree that the standard hatch looks very Astra like, but then the standard classic Impreza looks like a Corolla. And the standard Lancer looks like any Japanese 4 door box. Its the STi/Evo models where the comparison should be drawn (in my opinion) and, out of the box, the STi hatch didn't look great, but with a few minor tweaks (grill, mirrors etc.), I thought the UK hatch looked
much improved.
