Just had a google about the Carrera GT and its red/blue wheel centres.....

The red and blue locknuts signify the left or right side, as the threads on the wheel stud are reversed on one side (left I think). Having different colored wheel lock nuts on a racing car (as is common in GT racing) keeps someone from trying to put the wrong one on the wrong side during a fast wheel change on a pit stop.
