Three points:

Synthetic oils will lubricate you engine, the formulation and quality of the ingredients varies, but generally they will do an sufficent job. The choice is whether you want the best oil and the extra advantages...the best protection, better fuel consumption, more power etc. along with the technical support that could save you a big bill in the future. Oil test results can indicate potential problems without the expense of opening up the engine.

I didn't say to buy the oil from me....I'm only offering the best advice and I would rather people bought my recommendation from another supplier than use an inferior product. I supply several government agencies with Bardahl which is far more financially rewarding than selling single cans of product, but I am passionate about cars and using the best products to get the best performance. That is the only reason why I post on forums and spend every weekend at the race track. I am not an oil seller - I provide oil solutions. If I was selling purely for profit it would be far easier to sell a brand that spends £millions a year on advertising or a range of brands. My remit is to provide people with the best and that makes me proud.

The RAF Typhoon Rally Team who run an Impreza changed from Millers to Bardahl this year after I demonstrated the difference in quality at the Autosport show.

At the end of the day you pay your money and take your chance.
