I am one of the people who have had the Cosworth Baffled Sump fitted this weekend by Jimmy @ JS Engineering. This included having the Bardahl XTC 10w60 with the Turbo Protect additive.

Obviously, I can't comment on what it's like yet. I was using Mobil 1 15w50 before this, but mainly because it's thicker formula reduced engine noise. And me being in panic mode after blowing mine up a couple of years back, I went over the top really in looking for that.

The noticeable difference is the engine noise, but that was always going to be the case.

After spending time talking to Jimmy on Saturday about the Bardahl products, he couldn't speak highly enough of Bardahl. He said that it is significantly better than the Motul products he has used in the past. Most people on here know Jimmy's pedigree in the racing world and in my honest opinion, his word or opinions go a very long way with me.

The truth of the matter is, we all have favourites. Millers is tried, tested and more importantly trusted within the Subaru community. It will always be difficult to convince people that a new and to some extent unheard of product is better. And until Bardahls products have been tried by people within the community and gets good reviews, it will probably and rightly not change the minds of brand and quality loyal users.

I am hoping that while we are in Germany, I can share the bottle of Bardahls Octane Boost with another Millers user (Hopefully Anger?) to see what he thinks of the product. It will be good as we will both be using Millers on the trip, both of us trying the product at the same time will be very useful, information wise.

I always love these ongoing oil debates
