As explained to me, Subaru want to be a bit more "exclusive". Also, the deal with Toyota means they have priority (maybe put in most of the funding?). The Jap domestic market take up for the BRZ has been significantly more than expected and is satisfied first. In the US, Subaru sales for the whole range are up by a third over 2011 and so they will be satisfied before us but after the Japs. In some European countries where the BRZ is on sale, there are apparently not even demonstrators!!

A very missed opportunity if you ask me. Not enough units to go round.
