Thanks Gary. If i understand it you can still use them - it is just you may not be able to buy them. The level of noise they produce may mean than they do not meet the EU requirements. These requirements will get stricter between 2012 to 2016 with manufacturers having to make quieter and more efficient tyres. All tyres have to meet the minimum EU standards and suppliers cannot sell them if they do not have the appropriate labels. No doubt alot of tyres will have f all grip!
