If there's no pill it won't boost, as the actuator will see full pressure and open way too early.

The pill is there to 'restrict' the amount of pressure seen by the actuator NOT to restrict boost. The smaller the hole the more the boost. Stock restrictor are 1 - 1.2mm bore depending on model.

A similar restrictor on a pre facelif classic works the opposite way i.e it does restrict the boost. but it is a larger bore (around 2mm IIRC).

The pill may be partially blocked with oil/crud so worth a spray through the pipes and also the Boost control solenoid with carb cleaner.

The pill is in the rubber hose next to the white t-piece that connects the turbo to the actuator.

This is all assuming you are stil running the standard 2-port boost control solenoid and that it hasn't been upgraded to a 3-port.

If it has a 3-port it may or may not have a restrictor depending on the mapper/mapping.
