Default de-tangoing headlights!!!!

Thought i would post up a couple of pics today to help with anyone thinking of doing this.

before de-tangoing

unbolt air intake and unbolt both headlights from the top

remove the front grille to access the bolts on either side

unbolt them and then remove the two panel trim clips either side to give an extra bit of movement and space to slide light out

unplug the 4 wire block connectors on the back of lights before you attempt to remove lights lol

then i put some sheets under the lights to protect the bumper and wing from scratches, then you will need to remove the lights out and voila!!!!!!

now the lights are ready for de-tangoing plus i had to araldite the plastic bits back onto lights as some numpty had tried to take lights out before and not realising the bolts were there so they were broken.
make sure you remove all the bulbs wire etc(i just taped up the headlight leveller wire)and then remove the nine screws that hold it together(one is hidden behind a bit of sticky pad)

when i did my last set of lights i did put them in the oven but this time i used a halogen heater and worked just as well took a good 20 mins of moving it about to get heat all over and get the sealant flexible(left light about 10-12" away)

then using a screwdriver and being very carefull start to prise it apart another pair of hands to help do this is handy(thanks wifey)and eventually it will pull apart then you need to unclip the nasty orange bits and push it forward untill it falls to bottom of light and remove, make sure no fingerprints inside and wipe clean, then i used a hairdryer to heat up sealant again, then put some new clear sealant all the way round, pushed back together and then screw back up and attach all wires and new silvatec indicator bulbs and then do the same for the other side

chuck these in the bin straight away

Then carefully refit them back on car and then you end up with this

hope this helps someone or if you dont wanna do this then buy a jdm which i believe are already de-tangoed.

now mr worzel its gotta be time to do yours now
