Bit of an update.... ordered some bits from Alyn - walbro 255 and a cam belt kit with all the idlers/tensioner - the car is ten years old now so due its second belt change on age (even though its not by mileage yet). Also stocked up on a few bits like oil, filters (black ones available from RCM) and PFR7B plugs for service which is due soon.
Decided to have a go at the fuel pump swap today, surprisingly straightforward job (thanks to JGM for the brief instructions on his website).
Cover off, used a brush to clean the loose dirt away as didn't want any falling in the tank.
New walbro hooked up, using the old sock as everyone says they're better than the new ones.
Not bad for a couple of hours work (including taking rear seats etc out) - and saved a few quid on having SMD do it for me
Just need to get it booked in with them for the service/cam belt change plus downpipe fitting now!
