Yeah also bear in mind that my car only got used very very occasionally, plus I am quite used to race cars and stuff, so I could take harsh rides without too much issue. I agree totally with bluebugeye. You can easily ruin a car if you don't put thought into the mods you are doing.
If you want just a small drop then some quality springs with some quality adjustable shocks would be a good choice. Cool overs belong on slammed or track cars really. My Passat has AP coil overs on it, and wow, did I ruin that car.
