The mats were free from the dealer, which was nice.
As for passive LEDs I've only seen them as SubieSpeed so far, but might be available from other suppliers and on eBay. I haven't looked myself. I originally thought that's what I would get but the seller on eBay I use only had these. Have you heard anything bad in "fan vs passive" at all? Passive have their issues too if they don't get good airflow or sit in a hot environment. I'll keep a close eye on mine and see how they go.
