Good on you for giving it a go.
It's a shame the carbon wrap didn't work out as the early efforts were great. Far better than I'd be able to do, that's for sure!
Personally, I think the carbon fibre looks a bit fussy when on small areas and surrounds like that, so for me it'll look better painted anyway.
