Just to add something extra... i learnt the hard way back in 2011 as I threw money at discs/pads for the standard 4 pot caliper hoping it was up to the job. It wasn't.
These pads did less than 300 road miles and 4 x 15 minute sessions at Brands Hatch (from new).

The 4 pot caliper is too small to dissipate sustained heat on track and it just melts. There was a thread on Scoobynet discussing this back in the day and EBC stated the pads in the pic above had been over 1100c (yes, eleven-hundred) as this is the temp the copper compound in them melts and causes the pads to smear. Toasty, and that was only a 250bhp wrx
This was using EBC pads sold for track/race use only!
