I've had 2.1engine tuner running 400 And a 2.5 hawk running 350. And as a road car much prefer the 2.5. As above very much personal preference but there is a considerable difference in the way they deliver the power.
2.5 will get you about quickly without making as much fuss or drama and you won't be left behind by allot of tdi,s on short lazy high gear squirts.
