I used the Subaru approach of using Flanges rather than the bitch slip joints VAG use, that are a pain to crack loose when rolling around on your drive trying to free up.

The DP would come off alot easier if flanged. As it is there isn't enough room to wiggle the downpipe out without splitting the slip joint. So you have to drop the whole centre/rear section off just to split it.
