Its so much more like a mini lap top than a phone.
Know what you mean about Blackberry - they've gone a different way and haven't really kept up. They're living on the fact that companies everywhere have invested in BES and hence find it easy to just keep using them. Over the last few years i've had 8700, 8800, couple of Pearls, Curve 8300 and now on a Curve 8900. All of them worked all the time, and had great battery life. For business email, qwerty keyboard is excellent.

But they're just not very personable, and i've never buy one myself with my own cash
