Default Oh arse


Had an argument with a post in a car park.

Been quoted £290+VAT to sort it, but I'm wondering about popping off the boot trim, sitting in the boot and pushing it out with my size 11s!

Warm it first (gently) with a heat gun/hair-drier to try to reduce the risk of paint cracks.

Looks to me like the paint has cracked at the top already.

The paint has cracked slightly at the top of the dent, yep.

I do actually have some proper metalworking hammers and dollies, and did some evening classes in car body repair a few years back, but have never done it in anger...which in this case I will be!

Thanks for the replies guys. A couple of the paintless dent removal places said it would need to go to a bodyshop and they wouldn't touch it.

Got a fair bit of it out, will still need to get it sorted properly but it's not as bad now.

Yes, but i've not seen him about for a while. He painted some bits for me a few years ago but not sure if he does bodywork repair/prep as well or just painting.

I think he sold his classic so not sure he's around the forum these days....

I got it sorted out by Scuff Busters in Tunbridge Wells in the end, £288 inc vat.

They took the badges off and I'll probably keep them off. Only trouble is now the scruffy bumper looks even worse! I gather that saloon ones won't fit and wagons hardly ever turn up on breakers sites, let alone in 48w
