Default British Rallycross R1 - Lydden Hill

Last weekend was the first round of the British Rallycross Championship and, as always, it was a cracking day of a racing.

Despite almost zero visibilty when we got there, the sun had burnt through the fog by half 10 and we had a day of blazing sunshine from then onwards. Racing was good throughout and there were some really close (as in paint swapping close!) battles in the Finals.

Its a damn good sign for the 2012 British Championship, as the first Round of the year tends be slightly less manic as drivers are still adjusting to winter changes: roll on the rest of the season!

As ever my camera was on and here's what I got...

The British Rallycross Championship has a new sponsor for 2012, bet you'll never guess who it is...

Watching from the cheap seats...

...get down here and buy a ticket ya tight arse!

Godfrey adjusting his stereo (probably) post-race...

Bad start to the day for Simon Hortons Scoob...

...which didn't get any better in the second set of heats:

Surrey Scoobies (with help from SES! ) making the car park look good...

The man at the wheel looks pretty pleased with himself, doesn't he?

Everyone is interested in a good "A Final" sign, right?...

And finally, Laza's mate just can't take it any more...

Some Quality photos, I think Tom (My Mate), was suffering a bit from the Sun all day lol.

Good Photo considering the Distance from the other side of the track! I don't even look that burnt!

Yeah, thats Ray. His car rates amongst my faves in the Super Mod class, gotta love the boxy widearch look on a Mk.3 Escort, its a classic rallycross look!

Not such a big BMW fan so I didn't take many shots of him (sorry!). Just had a look though them and a couple came out alright(ish)...

Yes and yes! I'm going to be doing both days of the ERC (on the assumption I have some petrol in the car by then...), the entry list is already looking really good so I can't to see some more action on track!

Yeah. I'll be brutally honest and say I wasn't expecting much from Gary Pusey in the ex-Woods Impreza. I'm sure its a competent build and would be a very quick road car, but against the level of machinery in the BRC now, its massively outgunned.

I thought Simon Horton would fair better in the hawk, but he seemed to have disasters in the first and second heats.

Need Kevin McCann to finish his GR Impreza...

...and get out on track with it!
