Default Somerset Stages 2013

Went down to Somerset for a couple of days with the wife last weekend, stayed in Porlock as a couple of friends have recently bought a B&B down there. So a nice chance to get away for a bit, plus the added bonus that the B&B they bought is right next to Porlock Toll Road which is used as a rally stage

So Claire got her first dose of rallying, with no long hike or nasty weather involved. A 10 minute stroll up the road and watch the action for a couple of hours. Didn't chase the rally round any other stages as we were having an easy day. But thought i'd put some pics up as usual. Porlock is the only tarmac stage of the event, so they have a service to change tyres before/after - although some cars still tried to tackle it on gravel tyres. All cars did the stage twice back to back.

There was a huge entry of mk1/mk2 Escorts as well

Went for a stroll round a nearby town of Dunster later in the afternoon, really pretty and peaceful place with castle and oldy worldy shops and stuff.

Have no idea where but guess there was another stage of the rally somewhere nearby, as we were wandering along (with ice cream ) and the peace was shattered by this lot trying to get through the village lol
