Just got to get the 2.5 lump from Nige's garage now. Only problem, he is in the Caribbean as we speak

They can't start it until next week anyhow, so not a problem ...... yet!

Nice one mate.
Did it come on the back of a fishing boat?

You need to check it over for any marks, damage etc before accepting it

I'm going to pop down there for sure.

If I had known it was coming, I would have been down there to check it off. I only spoke to Green Flag yesterday and they told me it was still out there and could still be 15 days.

Baz, maybe he could just jib down to Hastings and do it while it's on the ramps

CJ, I managed to knock out the big end going down to the Ring, only 29k from the hotel too

But it has made my mind up finally about going 2.5 so there is a silver lining

STi are forged as standard, the WRX 2.5's are not.
Although not sure if Nige's is an STi block, but assumed it is as that was were it was destined to go.

more money then sense, dealers happy to take the cash and of course....pub talk !!

Paul at zen reckons all the STi's he has taken apart have been forged. Hence why they can take boost harder to the redline then a WRX.

Forged info : http://bbs.scoobynet.com/scoobynet-gene ... ndard.html

AndyF also doesn't recommend 'uprated forged' until well over 400BHP.

I am at the point now where I think I will go for Forged Pistons.

Reading that post didn't clear it one way or the other. And I kind of agree with the comment the guy with the RA made, while the blocks out just get it done.

And because this bit of work is the last time I want to do anything like this, I don't want to have any doubts. I think I will do it properly too and go for rods and pistons.

EXPENSIVE!!!! GULP!!!! Cha...ching

Getting the right bits is crucial, however they are all worthless unless assembled by a pro.
I would be looking long and hard about who builds it and what warentee you get on the build.

Looking forward to watching the project progress mate
