Had a run out yesterday in a friend's 1970, 1500 Triumph Spitfire. Empty roads, nice and sunny with the roof down. Resonable turn of speed, suprisingly good road holding and sweet exhaust note. Very enjoyable.

Lovely for a run... not sure it's a car to own though unless you're handy with a spanner.
That might just be a biased view based on my dad's mate's one! |

Agree 100%,same with all cars of that age. As I'm not good with a spanner it's the one thing that puts me of buying an older car.

I think a lot of it is to do with the character of an old car. I really fancy a TR6 for the garage one day. That is of course once I have got my MK2 1600e Cortina, a Mk1 Mexico and a classic 911
