Default Oil leak :-(

Well after getting my car back on the road, pulled up at the flight tavern and noticed some steam comming from the scoop, thought nothing of it as it was wet, but over the past couple of days its done it in the dry too.

Opend the bonnet to have a look today and couldnt find anything.

Took it for a long drive and on the way home gave it some stick. Pulled up on the drive and smoke was bellowing from the bonnet. Opend it up and had a look.

The smokes comming from underneath the turbo, but i cant see a leak anywhere. I have noticed that the heatshield on the up pipe is abit wet with oil and theres some on the front subframe. I thought it could be the rocker cover gasket but it seems ok and theres no oil on the headers below it and the oil on the up pipe is too high to come from it. I could be wrong though.

Any help would be great

cheers andy

Has the turbo been taken off during your upgrade ?
If the turbo was taken off without drainign the coolant then a large quantity of coolant would of come out.
This tends to lay in places and in particular in the heatshileds.

Then when the car gets hot you can get a worrying amount of steam.

Does it smell oily or coolant like ????

when u say u just got the car back on the road, what did u have done 2 it? cuz it may help determine what the cause may be.
had any WD40 near the turbo'exhaust? cuz i had smoke for a while off that when i changed my exhaust. made me think i hadnt done the bolts up propper at the time.

Cheers for the responces guys

SilverSurfer - definatly oil smoke mate, havent touched the turbo and havent got any heatshields now but the smokes comming from directly underneath it.

Andy-m - it was off the road because the water pump decided to spring a leak so had that changed and that was it, didnt touch anywhere near the turbo but i keep thinking maby we pulled or loosend a pipe somehow. Thing is its constant smoke that starts when its up to temperture but after a spirited drive it gets alot worse.

Anger - Was thinking it could be that, its been mentioned by a few people now so ill have to wait and see, got my mate comming to look at it tomorrow so hopefully ill get it sorted, if not ill take a video and post it up

Well had my car looked at today looks to be the rocker cover gasket or the breather hose so fingers crossed, had a look at the oil feed/return pipes both were dry so i guess there ok hopefully
