Default SLaG Happy (ish)

Well, after emptying my savings into the scoob this year. I have had the final session of 2009.

And though I didn't get the figures I wanted in this year, it will do for now.

I was hoping to get to 400bhp this year and got to 377bhp.
I was hoping to get to 420 ft/lb and got 392 ft / lb.

In fairness, my original target was hoping for 380 - 400 so very close to that.

There is a massive gain made today by putting the headers on. At the top end of the rev range, it was dropping like a stone down to 270bhp @ 6500rpm, that has now jumped to 340bhp at 6500 rpm, so a massive 70bhp leap and not running out of puff. It is a huge amount smoother to drive.

So, that's me done for 2009. 2010 will bring induction and front mount, with a solaris map. Which will give me the ultimate aim for me of about 420bhp / 440ft/lb. Or else.

Many thanks to the people invoved in getting me where I am with this. Vince, Nige, CJ, Simon (JGM), Charlie and the ever present Martyn. Cheers guy

No probs mate. Your so close with the figures. If the bum dyno tells you its quick thats what counts. I must admit i'm now getting the I WANT MORE POWER bug back yet again. The Evo is now feeling slow it dont feel like the 340bhp it's ment to be.

Ian.

I was only joking today about the little amount of time left until next year

It'll be April time I expect, just in time to cut it fine for Germany.

Steve

I wanted to stay top mount, but to get the numbers I want, I need to do it really. If I had got 400 with the top mount I might have quit.

Hey ho, still a happy bunny though.

The figures you got are good Steve, but seem low for the spec you went for or am i wrong???
Didn't Dyney get more than 400 out of a top mount? so no need to go front mount if you don't want to.
At the end of the day as long as your happy with it is all that matters, but i'm sure you would of been happier reaching the 400.

Its interesting seeing the changes and what the diferences in power are are.
Rich it is unusual that steves is still struggling, but simon is convinced a FMIC and induction system will do the job.
I with my limited knowledge reckon the induction is the answer.

Rich, I can't help but agree. For the money I have spent on it, I was expecting a bit more than I have got. The overiding factor for me was making it bullet-proof, which it certainly is.

Induction is the only difference between mine and Dyney's, so there has to be something in that.

Seeing as it's not that expensive to do, I might look into "santa" bringing me a nice induction kit :santa grin:

377 and 392

was the brake lights on during the runs

m8, I too would have thought you'd be at the figures you wanted with all you've done and spent hopefully she'll loosen up over time and spread her legs a bit more.

Induction kit first, I too reckon you can avoid the front mount

Don't get to into dyno figures though I know from experience that a car that hits low figures can still be all over a car with larger figures in the real world.

If your happy with how it drives now, forget chasing figures

I also wonder what kind of condition my top mount is in? It may be full of **** and just not that efficient. Maybe a new top mount? and Induction?

I would be happier if I could do that and get my 400 - 420 bhp.

Front mount would a last resort.
