Default Crank pully

just purchesed a lightweight Crank pully for my 93 wrx it arrived but is smaller than the OEM one this will cause the alternator and power steering pump to spin faster making them work harder is that ok to do?

if its smaller than the OEM, it will make the power steering and alternator spin slower, not faster. it means the alternator and steeering pump wont be working at full capacity which should be fine if both are in good working order. should also release a bit more power in the engine but dunno if that would be noticable or not as i;m just going on what i have read, nto experienced

Sounds like you have an undriven(smaller) lightweight pulley..... you may benefit /require a smaller belt The other pulleys will rotate slower but easily overcome by reducing the size of these to match

i plan to fit the others very soon this one just came up new and cheap so thought id snap it up. in my opion they do not add bhp even if i had all 3 and light weight flywheel on it just creates less drag allowing the engine to spool easyer making it rev faster, i have heard it losses tourqe as the revs drop alot faster,
on my gtir 6 i had a billet flywheel and pullys and it did rev up quicker but if you were high in revs then came to a sudden stop it would sometimes nealy stall as the revs droped alot faster which it didnt do before i had the bits fitted..

IMO they really only do two things .. 1: dress the engine 2: reduce weight (approx2.5kg)

Any improvement to the way the engine runs will be negligible and not be noticeable anyway.... Used as a weight saving exercise then I expect with other reductions you may see some benefit....
