Default Naughty scooby!!
Hi guys. can anyone shed some light on this. i have just recently bought a wrx sti 1997 import. it has had a few mods done (ported head, lightened flywheel ,exhaust etc.. it has apexi power fc ecu fitted also. it did have remaps etc but previous owner had erased these. (quite a green owner) the car does not run that well. it judders backfires and is hunting and stallint alot. etc ..!! what could it be.... wat do i need to do?????? if it needs work to remap or tune can anyone recommend someone

Sounds like a vacuum leak, had this happen to me a few times due to old vacum hoses splitting reaplace all of them and not a problem since

why did the previous owner erase a remap?? this could potentially mean your car is running on a base map or similiar

suggest you get the map checked/re-done asap

i believe he got it as a p/x and played around with the controller and ersaed data that way... im not driving it till its fixed.. one thing i will say is that i put the standard ecu back in and done a reset and the car was still acting the same if this means anything ..!!!

If you changed the ecu and reset it and is still acting the same then its not the ecu it would be something todo with the engine mate

This sound like what my scoob was doing last year hunting,stalling running lumpy back firing,very sluggish,wouldnt pick up,so after changing near on every sensor (BradWRX) had a look at it for me,put his MAF on and it sorted the problem...
